Places worth a detour
Lofoten has a spectacular landscape, ultimate food, beaches that can take your breath away, mountain peaks with views to die for and many nice places to visit. We had found a bunch of places worth a detour.
Nusfjord

Nusfjord is a pearl in Lofoten. Is an authentic fishing village, like a living museum, with shop, cafe, bakery, restaurant, museum, gallery, bakery and much more. Nusfjord is a "must" in Lofoten.
Henningsvær

You have not been to Lofoten before you have been to Henningsvær. Who wants to miss the cozy and vibrant weather with the cozy cafes, shops and restaurants. Take in Engelskmannsbrygga, see the famous football pitch by the lighthouse and also visit Galleri Lofoten when you're there.
Unstad

Lofoten's Surf Paradise is beautifully located facing the sea. The midnight sun shines here in the summer and the roughly 10 permanent residents are visited by 1,000s of tourists every day during the summer months. The popularity is increasing and record sales are constantly being made of the few houses in the small community which is surrounded by mountains and with a magnificent view of the ocean.
Uttakleiv

The beautiful beach at Uttakleiv is worth a detour. Feel free to bring some food and drink and enjoy the ocean and the midnight sun. Feel the calm that descends and watch the sheep grazing in front of the beautiful pebble beach. Feel free to combine with Hauklandsstranda and a trip to the mountain Mannen.
Reine

The drive from Sakrisøy to Reine is an adventure. Beautiful views all the way. Use the opportunity to take a trip up the stairs to Reinebringen for an even better view.
Skrova

It is called Lofoten's Hawaii in the vernacular. The place with the most hours of sunshine in the whole of Lofoten. Take the boat from Svolvær and experience this island paradise. Well worth the detour. If you can bear it, the worst thing is to take the trip to Skrovatoppen. Beautiful view.
Gimsøy

Gimsøy (pronounced Jimsøy) is a peninsula with just under 200 permanent residents in the middle between Leknes and Svolvær. Here is one of the world's finest golf courses, beautiful beaches and some nice peaks to climb. There is also a restaurant, a campsite and opportunities for horse riding. Great place for the whole family.
Ballstad

If you like good food, Ballstad is the place in Lofoten. Here you have at least 4 good restaurants in the top class. There are also many nice accommodations here. Ballstad is so to speak in the middle of Lofoten and is perfect as a base for your stay.
